THE IRON QUEEN
A MODERN RETELLING OF THE HADES AND PERSEPHONE MYTH MADE FOR STOP MOTION
This modern retelling is based on the Greek mythology of Hades and Persephone.
There are five characters represented in this conceptual project. The main character Persephone has four costume changes with three different wigs. The puppets are created with ball and joint sockets to allow maximum movement and animation potential. Each puppet has replacement faces that are held into place with two 2mm magnets.
The back of the head which is cut right in front of the ears also houses the eyes which are on a similar ball and joint system to the bodies to allow for ease of movement and are able to stay in place when a head is replaced.
