CABARET
A conceptual redesign of the musical drama Cabaret.
The focus of the designs in this musical was to make the Kit Kat Klub as fake as possible. This was achieved by not only using different types of plastics on the chorus and the Emcee but also by changing the faces of the chorus to become more distorted and ugly to reflect the turbulent world outside. In stark contrast to the bright world of the Kit Kat Klub, the real world is in greyscale
RITE OF SPRING
A conceptual project of the dance performance Rite of spring based on the choreography of Pina Bausch.
In her original choreography, Pina Bauch used dirt to change highlight the change in the dancers. This rendition wanted to highlight those same changes but by using water and dye packs sewen within the seams of the costumes.
TROJAN BARBIE
A conceptual take on the tradgedy Trojan Barbie
Reimagined as the women of Troy being stuck in a time not quite their own. The clothing design for the women is half between them being burned and disappearing and their clothing that trojan royal women would have worn. But, because they are stuck in a crossroads of time there is also some plastic and more futuristic clothing like the embroidered skull barbie faces on the guards armor.
